Which Boat Would You Choose?

I have friends and readers, some of whom may be reading this post, whose lives and beliefs align deeply right of mine. As a result their political leanings do as well. Sadly in today’s world we find ourselves cloven in two. You see, there are alleged leaders whose positions of power are predicated on fostering fear and hatred and divisiveness among the people they are supposed to lead. These weak-kneed, spineless autocrats hold their positions by fueling that fear and hatred.

Lest you think I’m pointing a finger specifically let me be clear — there are those on both sides of our currently shorn in two system who do this. The truth, however, is that the weighting of where those types lie is on the right. Flawed arguments and baseless contention wrapped in finger pointing and hatred. The kind of leadership that flies in the face of any spiritually inclined values — be they Christian or otherwise.

I, for one, am sick of the hatred and finger pointing — no matter where it may begin. While Joe Biden may not be the choice people would otherwise have made, I will ask you this …

If you were on a rapidly sinking ship in shark infested waters and there were two life rafts available — one that was strong and sound, had room, life jackets for all passengers, and some provisions and the other unstable, no life jackets, and also sinking quickly… would you really argue about which one to board if you just didn’t like the color of the boat?
